## When export becomes available

The Publish section appears when the project has enough generated content for export. Scribora exposes PDF and EPUB downloads separately because the two formats serve different publishing workflows.

- PDF: useful for direct downloads, lead magnets, review copies, and print-oriented workflows.
- EPUB: useful for ebook stores and reading apps that expect reflowable text.

## Before exporting

- Review the table of contents and chapter order.
- Check title, author, and project metadata.
- Verify that generated images and captions belong where expected.
- Run a final factual pass on claims that could have changed since the source material was collected.

## Preview export versus final export

Approval does not hard-block every export. If chapters exist but not all are approved, the export status is a preview state and the rendered file carries a preview watermark. Once all chapters are approved, the Publish card switches to the final download state.

## Format, theme, and author are separate settings

Page format controls geometry and includes KDP paperback sizes as well as screen-oriented formats. The style theme controls typography and decoration; non-classic themes are gated by the effective project's theme feature. Author name is editable directly in the Publish card and is stored in the project's brand configuration.

PDF and EPUB renders are queued as background jobs. The UI reports queued, rendering, and download phases rather than holding one long request open until the file is finished.

> Export credits are deducted only after the basic export validations pass. If the render itself fails, the backend refunds that export charge.
