## Use each format for what it is good at

- Links: useful for public references and material you want analysed alongside your own notes.
- PDFs: useful for reports, research, guides, and structured source documents.
- Transcripts: useful for interviews, calls, podcasts, lectures, and your natural speaking voice.
- Audio: useful when recording is faster than writing; keep the recording focused on the intended book.

## A useful mixed-source recipe

For a practitioner guide, start with your own notes, add two or three representative transcripts, then add only the external material needed to support or update the argument. This keeps the book recognisably yours instead of turning it into an assembled summary.

## Current ingestion paths and limits

- Web URL accepts a public HTTP or HTTPS page; the URL scraper can extract ordinary HTML pages and direct PDF or PPTX resources.
- Upload File currently accepts PDF, PPTX, DOCX, TXT, Markdown, VTT, SRT, MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, and WebM, with a 50 MB per-file limit enforced before upload.
- Text transcripts can be uploaded as TXT, Markdown, VTT or SRT files, or pasted into Your Notes. Audio recordings are transcribed after upload and enter the project as extracted source text.
- Audio above the transcription provider's per-request size limit is split server-side into smaller segments and the transcript is reassembled in order.
