Product facts
What is Scribora?
Scribora is a source-first nonfiction ebook workspace that turns notes, transcripts, public web URLs, PDF and PPTX documents, and supported audio into an editable outline, chapter drafts, and PDF or EPUB exports.
Intended use: It is designed for people who already have source material and want a managed workflow from source analysis through outline, chapter review, and export.
Verified against the implementation on 2026-09-19.
Supported source material
A project can combine pasted notes or transcripts, public web URLs, PDF and PPTX documents, and supported audio.
- Supported audio MIME types cover MP3, WAV, M4A/MP4, OGG, and WebM.
- Audio is transcribed before it enters the same source-analysis workflow as documents and notes.
- Public discussions can be gathered from Reddit, Hacker News, and Stack Exchange.
Book workflow
Scribora stores project sources, analyzes them into a knowledge base, plans an outline, generates chapters, and gives the author a review and editing step before export.
- The outline is an explicit checkpoint rather than a hidden generation step.
- Chapter generation runs as a background job and can be reviewed chapter by chapter.
- Pro projects add critique, revision, coherence, style-refinement, and fact-checking passes.
Outputs
The implemented ebook export formats are PDF and EPUB; projects can also create a public landing page and, where enabled, images and cover assets.
- PDF and EPUB are separate export formats in the public API.
- Exported files still need the author's final editorial and publishing review.
- Scribora supplies files and publishing assets; the author chooses the storefront or distribution channel.
Ways to use the product
Scribora has a free evaluation path, project-scoped one-off book editions, and recurring account plans.
- The free plan currently includes an outline and two sample chapters.
- A one-off Standard Book or Pro Book applies to one existing project and does not change the account subscription.
- Current prices, credits, and plan limits come from the public billing catalog rather than this static page.
Public evidence
Public sample-book pages and free sample chapters show actual Scribora output, while the docs describe current product behavior.
- Indexable sample chapters are server-rendered and also available as machine-readable Markdown.
- The documentation and its Markdown alternates are generated from the same registry.
- The pricing page and pricing Markdown read the same public billing catalog.
Boundaries
These are product boundaries, not small-print exceptions.
- Scribora is positioned for nonfiction, not fiction.
- It is source-first: a prompt-only, high-volume book generator is a different product category.
- It is not primarily a layout tool for prose that is already finished.
- Generated text and automated checks do not replace the author's factual, legal, or editorial review.
- Scribora does not guarantee book sales, rankings, reader conversion, or publishing approval.
Check the evidence
Product behavior, output quality, and current commercial terms have separate sources so a reader does not have to trust one marketing page.
