AI Lead Magnet Generator: the part no tool can generate for you
The hard part of a lead magnet was never writing it. It is having something in it that the reader cannot get for free somewhere else, and no generator can invent that for you — it can only find it in material you already have.
We make one of these tools. Prices below were fetched from vendor pages on 28 August 2026, and the one that matters is not in our favour, so we put it near the top.
What these tools are actually for
Type a topic, get a formatted PDF guide. That is the product, and the good ones do it in a few minutes. Inkfluence AI's entry tier is $9.99/mo ($89/yr) and is named, in their own words, for lead magnets and sellable guides. It is a fair price for the work involved: writing about a topic is one model call per chapter.
Scribora Starter is $29/month. For the same job — topic in, guide out — we are roughly 3.4x more expensive per chapter and you should not pay it.
Why most AI lead magnets do not collect emails
Watch what happens on the landing page. A visitor is asked to trade a real email address, which now costs them a stream of future messages, for a PDF titled something like The Complete Guide to Email Marketing. They have read forty articles with that title. They already know roughly what is in it, because they know what a model knows.
The conversion problem is not design, subject line, or button colour. It is that the document contains nothing that required you to exist.
Meanwhile the thing that would convert is sitting in your call recordings: the objection you answer every single week, the number a client was shocked by, the three ways people get this wrong before they hire you. That material is unglamorous, disorganised, and it is the only part a competitor cannot generate.
The question that decides which tool you need
Not budget. Not features. This: is the value in your head and your files, or in the topic itself?
If someone could type your topic into any of these tools and get something as good as yours, the topic is the value. Buy the cheap generator, publish weekly, and compete on volume and distribution. That is a real strategy and it is not the one we sell.
If your answer would be different from the generic one — because of who you work with, what you have seen fail, what your data says — then a tool that starts from a topic will actively throw away your advantage. It will write the article everyone else has.
Building one from material you already have
This is the workflow Scribora is built for, and it is worth describing concretely enough that you can judge whether you need it.
You bring the raw stuff: call transcripts, a Notion page of notes, saved links, a voice memo, an old webinar recording. Not a topic — the actual material. It gets read and organised into an outline, and you edit that outline before a word is drafted, because the structure is where a lead magnet is won or lost.
Chapters are then drafted from those sources rather than around them, and can be grounded in real discussion from Reddit, Hacker News and StackExchange, so a chapter about a problem uses the words people actually use for it. Then an editing pass strips the prose patterns that make AI writing recognisable — we listed the four we cut first in how to edit AI-generated books.
The output is a PDF or EPUB plus a landing page to put it behind.
Keep it short
A common mistake, and it is expensive with any credit-based tool: people build a twelve-chapter book as a lead magnet.
Two to four chapters is usually right. The document has one job — to be finished, and to make the reader think that if the free thing is this specific, the paid thing must be worth a call. Nobody has ever booked a consultation because a free PDF was long.
Where we are the wrong purchase
If you publish a lead magnet a week across many topics, the economics point at the cheap generator and nothing here changes that.
If your content is already written and you need it formatted, buy a packaging tool instead of a drafting one.
And if you are not sure the material is really there, do not buy anything. Scribora produces an outline and two chapters free from your own files, without a card. For a short lead magnet that is most of the finished artefact, which is a strange thing for us to point out and also true.
